Unit6 I am watching TV.

Section A (1a-2b)

一、The analysis of teaching material.

The grammar of this unit is the present continuous tense. Through the creation of scenes and the presentation of pictures, let students observe and sum up the knowledge of present continuous tense, which can not only improve the students' interest in learning, but also arouse the enthusiasm of the students. This unit mainly presents knowledge from phrases to sentence patterns. Ask students to use phrases to express sentences in the present continuous tense. Finally, this lesson also covers the part of listening and speaking. By studying in this class, let students master the English ability of listening, speaking and reading.

二、The analysis of students.

Students of grade seven have a certain linguistic background and knowledge background after half a year. Students in primary school have studied the simple present tense, the simple past tense and the future tense and so on. On the one hand, it is easy for the students to confuse the three tenses,on the other hand, the teacher can not mechanically memorize the three tenses. Therefore, this lesson combines the characteristics of students' lively and active, so I am going to  design the part of videooral exercises and other activities so that students can master and use these knowledge unconsciously. Thus, the initiative of the class is taught to the students so that they can discover, induce, perceive and use the language actively.

三、Teaching aims and demands

(一)Knowledge Objects:

      1New words and phrasesmaking soup, reading a newspaper, listening to a CD, talking on the phone, using the computer, washing the dishes.

      2Present progressive tenseSubject + be + doing.

(二)Ability Objects:

      To freely talk about or learn about what they are doing.

(三)Moral Objects:

      To be friendly to everyone!

四、Teaching key points and difficult points

The teaching key point:To master the usage of these new words: making soup, reading a newspaper, listening to a CD, talking on the phone, using the computer, washing the dishes.

To master the usage of Present progressive tenseSubject + be + doing.

The teaching difficult point:The grammatical point of the present progressive tense is divided into its structure and pronunciation, and it is necessary for the student to accurately use the present continuous tense to describe or express the ongoing movements in the communication.

五、Teaching aids

Multimedia devices and PPT documents and blackboard.

In order to help students to fully understand the knowledge.I adopt Multimedia devices and PPT documents to bring the real-life situation into the classroom.Let students contact language more directly.

 

六、Teaching procedures

Step1 Leadingin

    Watch a video together. Play the video for the second time and then tell the students that we are watching a video,I'm watching a video. Then drill the sentences:

 ---What are you doing?

 ---I'm watching a video.

    Justification: This part mainly help student arouse their interests in this class

 

Step2 Presentation

    Show pictures to learn new words and phrases:making soup, reading a newspaper, listening to a CD, talking on the phone, using the computer, washing the dishes.

Drill the sentences.

    Finish 1a and Check the answers together.

   Justification:By presenting some pictures,help to build a relaxing surroundings and also can let students learn happily and be impressed by the pictures.

 

Step3 Guessing game

Ask the students to guess what he/she is doing, have a competition.

   Justification:Through the guessing game,help student consolidate and use the sentence.

what’s more, It can make the class atmosphere better.

 

Step4 Finish 1b

    Listen to the tape, write the numbers from 1b.

   Justification:Listen to the tape.It can help to improve students’ ability of listening.

 

Step5 Finish 1c and practice the short dialogue.

     Ask and answer questions about what people are doing in 1a.

     The teacher will let student practice it in groups after that I will point 3 groups to present to the whole class.

    Justification:This part mainly help cultivate students’ ability of speaking.

 

Step6 Finish 2a and 2b

     For the first time, listen and match the answers with the questions. For the second time, fill in the blanks.

     Then read the conversation after the tape.

    Justification:Listen to the tape again,This mainly help students’ to improve their ability of grasping the key information.

 

Step7 Practice: ask and answer

     Let student choose one of the pictures the teacher shared on the blackboard, then talk about what people are doing in the picture.

    Justification: It is important to form a better English surrounding for the students by presenting the pictures.It can help student have a further understanding of the knowledge.

 

Step8 Summary

     Let student summary the knowledge the we have learned in this class,then the teacher make the final summary

    Justification:Review the knowledge after class,students can timely check their learning effect, and can deepen the understanding and memory of the knowledge. Finally, they can also improve their thinking ability.

八、Teaching reflection

    Through this class, I gained a lot. In the past, I was always idealistic in class. I think it's OK to read the textbook and design the teaching plan. Therefore, I always focuses on the completion of the teaching plan in class and ignore the initiative of students learning. In the design of this lesson plan, I first imported from the video, so as to arouse students' interest in learning. Then, through the presentation of the picture, let the students understand the knowledge points of this lesson. Finally, let students master the knowledge points by means of guessing, game and picture presentation. Through reading and training, students feel that the classroom is very relaxed and active. What's more,The use of multimedia teaching makes classroom forms diverse, large capacity and can fully stimulate students' interest in learningmobilize the enthusiasm of students learning.
